Xenia Rotary Commits $5000

I wanted to give our dedicated "fans" a sneak peak at a press release coming out tomorrow.

The Xenia Rotary has committed $5000 towards the new Disc Golf Course. Brett Ellis, President of Xenia Rotary stated, “Xenia Rotary is pleased to support the Disc Golf Course slated for Sol Arnovitz Park in Xenia. We hope others will join us and support and invest in this great opportunity. What a perfect way to blend the natural elements of Sol Arnovitz Park, exercise and fun.”

The course, which is being planned by the Xenia Disc Golf Planning Committee, in partnership with the City of Xenia, needs to raise $10,000 to purchase the equipment, materials, and signs for an 18-hole, free to play course at Sol Arnovitz Park located at 436 Towler Road. The City of Xenia has agreed to provide the labor for installation, long-term maintenance, as well as future improvements to the park.....

Committee Chairman and City Councilman Josh Long said, “Disc Golf is one of the fastest growing recreation sports and has a great following in the Dayton area. We have already had a lot of interest in the region to come play in Xenia. We are very thankful and blessed to have the Xenia Rotary donate more than half the funds needed to make this dream a reality.”

The group is also planning fundraising events and hole sponsorship opportunities to raise an additional $3000. “If we can raise $3000 thru private donations, Xenia Rotary has graciously agreed to also donate another $2000, which will bring us to our goal.” said Long. “We are also accepting donations from players, residents, and local businesses.”

Seeking Hole Sponsors

Not the actual sign.
The Xenia Disc Golf Course will not happen without your support! We are seeking hole sponsors to allow us to reach our fundraising goal.

For $300, we will feature your company's name, family name, or maybe a memorial to a lost loved on, on a particular hole sign. Visitors to the park and course will see the sign as the "tee off". All funds raised will go towards purchasing the equipment and signs required.

If we can raise $3000, through avenues like hole sponsors, our Course Sponsor, The Xenia Rotary, has agreed to donate another $2000 in matching funds.

Your sponsorship will help to purchase the tee sign, prepare the park for installation, and help purchase the needed equipment.

Brief Update

The committee is working on course designs, but more importantly most the effort is on sponsorship. Our goal is to be able to bring one main sponsor on, to name the course after them, and make this dream a reality.

With the right funds, the improvements for the park will include the 18 hole course, signage, reinstall a bridge over the creek/stream, and brush clearing.

Stay tuned to this site and our facebook page for updates later this month.

Thru the generosity of Greene Giving, we have also accepted our first donation of $100 to open the account. Our planning committee is currently working on fundraising ideas and levels, however we can accept personal and business donations of any amount, at this time.
